Swing Dance In The Park: September Edition

2pm to 6pm, Sunday 14th, September 2014

Cost: FREE

NB: Want to show how much you love dancing swing?
Due to insurance restrictions there is a limited number of spaces for good
dancers to social dance on the stage. If you would like to secure a place you
must attend end the whole event and contact asap Adrian McDowall in the
contacts page to have your name added to the list.

The main area of dancing will be in front of the stage.
Remember to bring appropriate shoes/trainers for the hard surface.
A great big thank you to Angelo Formato for the event photo.
It encapsulates the essence of this event - showing the buzz,
colour and motion - it's full of character.

What's on offer:
1. Live Band!

Kings Cross Hot Club . . .

London's hottest anarcho-swing-jazz revolutionaries! They

play a regime-changing mixture of gypsy swing manouche,
hot club jazz and Parisienne musettes.

Check out their website: http://www.kingscrosshotclub.co.uk/

and facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/kingscrosshot

2. DJs Judy 'in the groove' and Jazz Cat will bring a new taste of

music to your dancing experience.

3. Entertainment from the inimitable Mr John Barnes.
4. A beautiful secret park called Victoria Embankment Gardens,
smack bang in the West End of London.
5. Fantastically easy to get to central London location - e.g. seconds
from Embankment Tube or 1 min from Charing Cross!!!
6. Alfresco cuisine under the dappled sunshine of shading trees. Visit
one of my favourite spots for a 'bite in the park' - at the Embankment
Café in the Victoria Embankment Gardens.

7. The thrilling suspense of unknown weather!

You bring:

1. Yourself, friends & family.
2. A favourite swing track or two to play.
3. Food & drink, maybe even some to share!
4. A fierce determination to have a fun, relaxed attitude.
5. A blanket, suntan lotion, sunglasses, umbrella, wellies and a hoodie!
6. Most important of all, besides your good selves: an azure sky, moderate
humidity and a gentle cooling breeze (we live in hope).
